Last year, while travelling in Asia with her family, Pauline became violently ill. Upon returning home, she went to Children’s Hospital Colorado’s emergency room. After five days in the hospital, Pauline returned home on antibiotics, but her symptoms were relentless. Pauline was soon referred to the Digestive Health Institute at Children’s Colorado. An endoscopy test finally revealed what was wreaking havoc on Pauline’s body. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Her doctor recommended that Pauline try infusions to help “seal off” her wounded digestive track. Pauline underwent infusions every six weeks at Children’s Colorado and within a few months, her Crohn’s was in full remission. Today, Pauline is back to doing all the things she loves including soccer, art, traveling and having sleepovers with her friends.
